On the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of independent India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on November 11, a national portal will be launched here on Monday.
The portal, a collaborative effort by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Office of Advisor to the Prime Minister, the National Commission for Minorities and the Ministry of Culture, will be a one-stop point to collate all knowledge and resources available on Maulana Azad, a Minority Affairs Ministry release said.
Muhiyuddin Ahmed, popularly known as Maulana Abul KalamAzad, was a scholar and one of the tallest national leaders of his time in the cause of Hindu-Muslim unity as well as secularism and socialism, the release added.
This portal is part of an initiative by the Government to digitise the heritage of great leaders. A similar portal on Mahatma Gandhi was launched this year and another one on Jawaharlal Nehru is currently in the offing.
