Pune will host the India International Pet Trade Fair, South Asia’s only pet trade fair and India’s largest pet event, from January 17-19.
The exhibition-cum-trade show dedicated to the pet vertical in India will showcase a wide range of products and services ranging from health and nutrition products to vacation and exclusive styling studios. Over 70 companies from India and overseas are expected to participate in the event.
The highlights include a pet counselling and breeding seminar that will serve as a guide for puppy buying, rearing and breeding, and will address issues about companion, therapy, service, breeding and show dogs. Pet owners will be educated on aspects of pet ownership like ethical breeding practices and on the way to choose a show dog.
Over the last decade, the industry has witnessed changes on pet care, domestic policies, and veterinary and cosmetic products and services. Market researcher Euromonitor International estimates that the Indian pet care market may reach Rs 800 crore by 2015 from Rs 368 crore in 2011.
“Our agenda is to give a boost to the industry’s revenue by providing members with a platform to congregate and network. The wide range of products will enable the exhibitors to amplify their customer base,” IIPTF convener Linda Hawke said.
IIPTF is organised by Creature Companion, a pet care magazine published by L.B. Associates Pvt Ltd.
