Rain havoc: Over 10,000 train passengers hit

Over 12 trains were cancelled, seven-eight diverted, and three more were stopped en-route to stations.

Over 10,000 train passengers have been hit due to heavy rains causing damage to rail tracks on the Saharanpur-Ambala division. This is due to a mix of trains getting cancelled and diverted.

According to the Northern Railway, due to breaches on the Saharanpur-Ambala section, over 12 trains were cancelled on Tuesday. Also, some seven-eight trains were diverted, and three more trains were stopped before the stations.

The cancelled trains are: New Delhi-Jalandhar-New Delhi Express, Ambala-Haridwar Express, Rishikesh-Jammu Tawi Hemkund Express, Haridwar-Ambala Express, Dehradun-Amritsar Express, Haridwar-Amritsar/Una Himachal Jan Shatabdi Express, Rishikesh-Jammu Tawi Hemkund Express, Amritsar-Dehradun Express and Una Himachal/Amritsar-Haridwar Jan Shatabdi Express.

Many goods train on that route have also been hit, a Northern Railway official said.
