The fourth phase of Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes for senior citizens is proposed at Somaiyanpalayam near Vadavalli. This would be Ananya Shelters (P) Ltd’s second project in Vadavalli and the fourth in Coimbatore.

The construction of new project has just commenced and so have the bookings, Uma Maheshwari Yuvaraj, Director, Ananya Shelters told BusinessLine.

“It is coming up on a 7.5 acre. There will be 300 (2 BHK and 3 BHK) units, including individual houses and apartments. We expect to complete this phase in 2017,” she said.

The estimated outlay is ₹200 crore.

The company, which forayed into homes for senior citizens in 2011, has since completed three projects — two in Thondamuthur and one in Vadavalli.

Phase III on Nov 15

The inauguration of the project (phase III) at Dhaniyur near Thondamuthur is slated for November 15. “We will be handing over the key to the respective buyers on that day. There are 287 dwelling units with all amenities such as a swimming pool, shuttle court, 2-bedded in-house clinic and so on.

“Having completed this, we have now commenced the next phase of senior citizen home at Somaiyanpalayam in Vadavalli,” Uma Maheshwari said. According to her, the demand for senior citizen homes is on the rise in Coimbatore.

Asked if the company plans to develop similar projects in other parts of the State, she said, “no such plans as of now. We will probably moot one more project in Coimbatore after completion of phase IV.”

While most of the dwelling units have been bought out by friends and relatives of those residing in phase I and II of Ananya’s Nana Nani Homes for senior citizens, she said less than 2 per cent of the buyers belonged to north Indian community. “Women who are single and aged ones whose children have settled abroad prefer to relocate to such homes,” she said.
