So far, around 33,750 projects and 26,018 agents have been registered across India under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, said Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs here on Friday.

Addressing the gathering on 3rd regional workshop on RERA, Puri said, “In the second year of the implementation of RERA, all the States/Union Territories have notified rules under RERA except for six North Eastern states and West Bengal”.

He added, Maharshtra has the highest number of project and the agent registration. In the state, total 18,392 projects and 17,188 agents have been registered.

Puri emphasised that full benefits of RERA would be realised only when the provisions of RERA are implemented in letter and spirit.

“All the stakeholders need to make aware about the powers and the other provisions of RERA as the Act also mandates under section 33 that the authority shall take suitable measures for the promotion of advocacy, creating awareness and imparting training about laws relating to real estate sector and policies,” said Puri.

Lt. Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Durga Shankar Mishra and representatives of the developer’s association were among those who were present at the event.
