Come May 13 and you will be able to travel to Guntur and Tirupati from Hyderabad in air-conditioned double-decker super-fast express trains.
The South Central Railway will introduce two such express trains on Kacheguda- Guntur and Kacheguda-Tirupati routes, as announced in the interim Railway Budget 2014. The maiden service of the first ever double-decker train on this zone will commence at 05:30 hrs on May 13 from Kacheguda to Guntur.
The Commissioner for Railway Safety has given clearance for the running of these train services following the recent completion of trial runs of the train.
The Kacheguda-Guntur service will leave Kacheguda every Tuesday and Friday, while the Kacheguda-Tirupati train will leave Kacheguda every Wednesday and Saturday at 06.45 hrs.
These trains will consist of ten double-decker AC chair cars and two power cars. Advance reservations for these trains will commence from 08:00 hrs of May 9, an official release said.
A unique feature of these trains is that these have been provided with Very Early Smoke and Fire Detection Alarm systems.
