The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platform – C-CAMP – a life science/healthcare technology and innovation hub, has been selected for ‘scale-up support’ under the NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM).
The scheme is aimed at transforming established incubation centres to world-class standards. The C-CAMP bio-incubator has in the last few years emerged as a thriving hub for innovation and a vibrant eco-system, where it has supported over 70 innovative biotech life science start-ups through seed funding, bio-incubation and mentorship.
C-CAMP director and COO, Dr Taslimarif Saiyed said: “There is a need to have careful nurturing of healthcare/life science innovators/start-ups and C-CAMP is delighted at this recognition and support from NITI Aayog AIM. C-CAMP is ideally placed in the Bengaluru life science cluster, along with NCBS and inStem, integrating into a strong academic scientific environment. This support will enable C-CAMP’s bio-incubator to scale-up its efforts to building a world-class innovation incubation hub for healthcare/life science start-ups.”
