ZeeQ, India’s first edutainment channel, has partnered with the Ahmedabad-based National Innovation Foundation (NIF) to bring to life scientific ideas and innovations done by teenagers from across India.
‘Teenovation’, which airs on ZeeQ, is about children innovators who create brilliant solutions to the problems they saw around them. From automatic food-makers to crutches with shock-absorbers for the elderly, the 30-minute weekly programme encourages children to think out-of- the-box and open their mind to endless possibilities on problem solving, Prof Anil K Gupta, Executive Vice-Chair of NIF said here.
NIF, an autonomous institution of the Union Government’s Department of Science and Technology since the year 2000, promotes creativity and innovation. NIF is helping ZeeQ identify teenaged innovators to feature from all over India. The foundation has provided ZeeQ with a database of over 100 innovations out of which the latter has selected 70 to feature in Teenovation.
Subhadarshi Tripathy, Business Head of ZeeQ, said the Teenovation team is travelling to villages in Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi-NCR region, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab and capturing the real teen-innovators on reel.
ZeeQ is India’s first and only edutainment channel created for school kids in the age group of 4-14 years. NIF is engaged in the process to scout, spawn and sustain the grassroots technological innovations and outstanding traditional knowledge.
