South Malabar Gramin Bank (SMGB) conducted a seminar on the direct benefit transfer for LPG (DBTL) at Kalpetta. The project was launched in Wayanad district on June 1.
Kishore Kumar, General Manager, SMGB, explained the scheme and requested all LPG consumers to immediately link their LPG consumer numbers with Aadhaar number and bank accounts.
He pointed out that the bank is actively assisting the public in linking the accounts with Aadhaar numbers by opening large numbers of Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
The programme was inaugurated by K.K. Valsala, Chairperson of Kalpetta Municipality. N Sasidharan, Regional Manager, SMGB, detailed the activities of the bank in popularising DBT scheme in the district.
A class detailing various aspects of Aadhaar seeding was given by P.T. Johnson, Senior Manager, SMGB.
