Retail chain Shoppers Stop has opened its 73rd outlet in the country in Mangalore.
Addressing presspersons on the occasion on Friday, Manohar Kamath, Chief of Retail Operations of Shoppers Stop, said that it has 73 stores across 34 cities in the country.
Shoppers Stop will open five more outlets in places such as Delhi, Meerut and Kolhapur by the end of the current financial year, he said, adding that the speed of execution of work is around eight to 12 outlets a year in the departmental store format.
In Karnataka, Shoppers Stop has eight stores in Bangalore and one in Mysore. He said the Mangalore outlet is spread over 5,600 sq ft at Forum Fiza Mall. Products of nearly 200 brands are available in Mangalore outlet.
To a query on the late arrival of the outlet to Mangalore market, Kamath said Shoppers Stop would not get into a mall unless the building has a complete NOC (no-objection certificate) from the fire department.
