Singareni Collieries Company Ltd has firmed up plans to produce 68 million tonnes of coal during 2018-19, 6 mt more that its production in 2017-18.
The decision to increase the output during the current financial year was taken at a meeting chaired by N Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director of the State-owned mining company, with Directors, project heads and general managers of various production/mining sites of the colliery at the Singareni headquarters here on Thursday.
Instead of fixing targets, the CMD laid down general guidelines for achieving realistic output.
Project officials of 19 open cast mines and 29 underground mines participated in the meeting where area-wise targets were discussed.
The CMD said while coal production was 62 mt last year, the additional output target of 6 mt has been decided based on the potential of mines.
Earlier this week, Singareni Collieries announced a profit of ₹1,200 crore for 2017-18 on record revenues of ₹22,667 crore.
