Air India is to operate a special flight from Hyderabad to Arrakonam to bring back 120 passengers from Chennai. The flight will also carry 30 Air India personnel on board for logistics, the airline said in a statement.
The Air India relief aircraft from Hyderabad to Arrakonam awaits clearance from Arrakonam Naval Air Station INS Rajali to take off. The Airbus A-320 aircraft is expected to get back 120 passengers stranded in Chennai due to the floods. The flight was scheduled to leave at 3.30 pm but is still awaiting clearances for take-off, sources said.
