Partly cloudy day is forecast to get muggy and very humid towards the night in Chennai, the venue for the lone match scheduled, and the 19th under the IPL6 cricket league.
Hosts Chennai Super Kings will take on Pune Warriors at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium at 8 p.m. under tough conditions, though southerly winds of 15 to 25 km/hour could offer some relief.
Humidity is forecast to scale up beyond 80 per cent, which could make for ‘dripping sweaty’ conditions for players in the night, though most are familiar with them.
India Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of rain or thundershowers for Tamil Nadu, of which Chennai is the capital city.
Convective (rain-driving) clouds have not been spotted over the city, and there is no forecast for a build-up towards the evening either.
