Jamaican three-time Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown has tested positive to doping, a Jamaican newspaper reported late on Friday.
The Gleaner said that 31-year-old tested positive at a meet on May 4 to the use of a diuretic, which is a masking agent and is on the banned list of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
The newspaper said that the B-sample also tested positive.
If confirmed, she could face a two-year ban from the sport.
Athletics’ controlling body IAAF is expected to issue a statement next week, the newspaper said.
Campbell-Brown is considered a huge star in Jamaica and won gold at the 2004 Games in Athens and four years later in Beijing. She also won gold in the sprint relay in 2004.
The two-time world champion has a total of seven Olympic medals and nine world championship medals.
