Growingly clear weather has been forecast for Mumbai while a minimal threat of thunderstorm is in order for Chennai, venues for the two IPL6 cricket games later today.

Partly sunny to clear skies are forecast for hosts Mumbai Indians when they take on Pune Warriors at the afternoon game scheduled to start at 4 p.m. in Mumbai.

Maximum temperature of 34 deg Celsius with humidity levels of 50 per cent could test the nerves of players but the breezy evening could offer some relief.

Winds from a west to northwesterly direction could blow in both from land and from nearby Northeast Arabian Sea, skimming its surface and mopping up some moisture.

The southern metropolis of Chennai will see hosts Chennai Super Kings match it out with Royal Challengers Bangalore in what has been projected as a thrilling entertainer.

The match is scheduled to take off at 8 p.m. under partly cloudy skies and relatively high humidity level of in excess of 60 per cent.

There is a minimal threat of thunderstorm (20 per cent), what with a helpful trough scything its way down from North Chhattisgarh down to South Tamil Nadu across interior Andhra Pradesh.

India Meteorological Department too has forecast rain or thundershowers at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Stiff winds blowing clocking between 10 to 20 km/hr from south to southeast should offer some respite for players sweating it out in the field, though.
