A good range of security forces, including the BSF and the CRPF were deployed in and around the Feroz Shah Kotla ground as cricketers from India and Pakistan took the field for the third and final ODI cricket match, here today.
Around 2000 security personnel were guarding the stadium, including the spectator arenas. Around 100 CCTV cameras were installed to keep a tight vigil on the activities going around. Some security officers were also to be present in the stands in casuals.
The traffic movement was smooth around the stadium with only labelled vehicles allowed for parking at designated places. Fans started gathering in good numbers, a good 90 minutes before the start of the game.
Several check points were marked and the fans were not allowed to carry even coins.
Senior Delhi Police officer Devesh Srivastava said extra arrangements have been made for this match since it is an India-Pakistan contest.
