Pidilite Industries, an adhesives and construction chemicals firm, is to co-sponsor the 2013 India Junior and Cadet Open, an international event and part of the ITTF Global Junior Circuit, under the aegis of Fevicol. This will be the first instance where Pidilite will be sponsoring a sports event.
The event is coming to Mumbai after 30 years and will be played in the newly inaugurated world class Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium at the NSCI from October 16-20.
Apurva Parekh, Director, Pidilite Industries said table tennis is a global sport and is rapidly growing in India. Pidilite’s decision to associate with table tennis is aimed at fuelling interest in the sport amongst youngsters.
Organising committee chairperson Vita Dani added some Indian table tennis players have been creating waves in the international circuit.
The event will feature 50 international and domestic future champions. There will be 12 events in which the boys and girls will compete in team and individual events in the junior and cadet categories.
