Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will meet Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in connection with the launch of the Kochi franchise of the football Indian Super League that he co-owns.
He will be accompanied by Prasad Potluri, Chairman of Hyderabad-based PVP ventures, joint owner of the franchise.
The meeting will take place here in an hour’s time from now. The Chief Minister will later announce the name of the football club.
The franchise owners will also meet VS Achuthanandan, Leader of Opposition, and members of the Kerala Cabinet.
They will later leave for Kochi where they will meet officials of the Kerala Football Association in connection with registration of the new club.
They will also visit the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which will host the Super League matches later this year.
