SuVitas Holistic Healthcare Pvt Ltd has opened a facility for post hospitalisation care.
Claiming that SuVitas is the first transition healthcare facility in the country, its investor and board member Sateesh Andra said the need for the service was acute in the country.
"In the US, there are 8 lakh transition beds for one lakh critical care beds. In India, there is such facility for over one lakh beds," he said.
SuVitas is a facility that comes between hospital and home after a patient gets treated for a critical ailment.
The post hospitalisation rehabilitation is offered for patients who had undergone treatments in neurology, cardiology, orthopaedics and oncology.
To begin with, SuVitas has 60 beds with other facilities such as library and home theatre. "Our plan is to rapidly build and scale this up to a 1,000 bed enterprise in next three years," Andra said.
It would require about Rs 150 crore investment, according to Ramesh Babu, another investor and board member of SuVitas.
