Glion Institute of Higher Education, a hospitality management institute in Switzerland, has, for the first time, come up with a scholarship programme for Indian students.
Once the process gets over, the institute will select one student for Master of Science (MSc) in International Hospitality Business with Luxury Brand Management for September 2018 intake, and one more for the February 2019 batch. The two selected candidates will be offered 25 per cent scholarship in tuition fee.
For the course, a student has to pay 42,000 Swiss Francs tuition fee and 8,000 Swiss Francs for food and accommodation.
“It’s a merit-based scholarship; so, the candidate’s academic criteria, fluency in English and dissertation will be taken into consideration. But sub-skills is going to be the most critical element. A lot of emphasis will be given to the student’s ability to learn and be passionate about the hospitality environment as a whole,” said Benoît-Etienne Domenget, CEO, Sommet Education, the parent company of Glion.
The candidates are required to submit an 800-word essay on their assessment of the opportunities and challenges of the luxury industry in India.
