The 2012-14 batch PGDM (post graduate diploma in management) students of the Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) got an average annual pay package of Rs 9.71 lakh.
Quoting RC Natarajan, Director of the institute, a press statement said here that the highest annual package offered was Rs 55 lakh. It said that the institute received a very good response from the corporate world for placement of students of the 2012-2014 batch.
More than 100 companies participated in the placement process and offered jobs to 296 students. Around 60 companies participated for the first time, it said.
This year, TAPMI students received 10 international placements. Of them, five offers came from Etihad Airways of the UAE, three from Primlaks of Nigeria, and two from Enhance Oman in Oman.
The statement said that 21 students accepted pre-placement offers received from the organisations where they did their summer internship.
TAPMI's students got offers from sectors, including consulting, FMCG, IT/ITES, e-commerce, telecom, media, confectionary, manufacturing, airways, BFSI, digital marketing, pharma and healthcare, textile, BPO and logistics.
The placement report of the institute is audited by Crisil as per IPRS (Indian Placement Reporting Standard). IPRS was introduced in 2011 to bring in greater transparency in b-school placements reporting across the country, the statement said.
