The Milkman of India is adding another feather to his cap.
The late Dr Verghese Kurien, who piloted the White Revolution between the 1960s and ’80s and launched Amul, will now be immortalised in print by Amar Chitra Katha (ACK), a publisher of children’s illustrated books.
ACK Media will launch a new title, Verghese Kurien-the Man with the ‘Billion Litre’ Idea, at a function on Saturday at the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, Gujarat.
The launch coincides with the 92nd birth anniversary of Kurien.
R.S. Sodhi, MD of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which markets Amul products, and Dr Kurien’s daughter Nirmala will be present, besides ACK Media CEO Vijay Sampath ACK Editor Reena Puri.
