The Hindu Lounge, a first-of-its-kind experience store from The Hindu group, has launched an online store, The Hindu Lounge Online, that brings back to life the glorious moments that have shaped our world in a exciting new avatar.
Following the success of The Hindu Lounge’s physical store at the Express Avenue mall in Royapettah, Chennai, the newspaper has launched the online shopping portal which will offer a wide range of collectibles for people of all ages.
4 categories
The store is broadly classified into four categories – The Madras Edition, Personalised Collection, Restored Collection and Handmade Collection. Madras Edition deals with products of nostalgia and quirkily authentic to the city from coffee mugs, photo frames, coasters and more.
Restored Collection is a one-stop-shop for all things upcycled, made from old editions of The Hindu’s own newspaper and magazine – there are baskets, pen holders, coasters, tea sets and much more.
Handmade Collection is the very representation of style and class – khadi journals, handmade paper, envelopes, gift tags, brass metal bookmarks and so on have been crafted in collaboration with Anand Prakash.
The store will be expanding shortly to other cities and thematic collections.
The store’s highlight is the Personalised Collection – a framed front-page reprint of The Hindu , be it a significant news milestone (such as the news of Independent India or Team India’s 1983 World Cup win) or personal landmark (birthday or anniversary or any special occasion).
The products can be purchased online at https://lounge.thehindu.com/
