Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma today said there is no scam in coal block allocations and the CBI probe will vouch for that.
Responding to a query on the reported suggestion made by a CBI investigating officer for questioning Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in coalgate scam, he said, “There is no scam in this government. Is there any confusion?”
“CBI is investigating and CBI will clear that there is no scam,” Verma said on the sidelines of an event here.
To a question on jailed Gujarat IPS officer DG Vanzara’s letter in which he blamed Chief Minister Narendra Modi for using police officials for fake encounters, Verma said, “The true face of the Gujarat government is coming to light.”
Attacking BJP for virtually projecting Modi as its Prime Ministerial candidate, he said, “In all countries and in our country also, the Prime Ministerial candidate is a person who thinks good for the country and does good for the country.
But, there was one party in which a person who faced allegations of massacre of thousands of people was becoming a PM candidate.”
