Fire broke out at the Nagpur railway station here today and as many as eight ticket counters were gutted disrupting the reservation system for some time, fire and police officials said.
The fire broke out in the morning at the ticket counters (for unreserved) where computers were kept, destroying the nearby furniture and blank tickets, they said.
Immediately, fire tenders were rushed to the station and the flames were doused.
Top officials, including Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Jaideep Gupta, rushed to the spot. The cause for the fire is not yet known.
The authorities have set up a three-member committee to look into the fire accident, Public Relations Officer of Nagpur division, P D Patil said.
None of the passengers waiting in the hall were hurt.
