The Tamil Nadu Milk Producers Union today urged the Government to hike the procurement price of milk to help the milk producers in the State.
The procurement price should be increased by Rs 5 for cow milk and Rs 10 for buffalo milk per litre as the prices of cattle feed have increased sharply during the last few years, TNMPU President Sengottuvelan said.
He said the Karnataka Government had already hiked the procurement price of milk.
He also requested the Government to hike salary of the staff working in the milk societies.
