RBI: All eyes on the Reserve Bank of India as it would release its sixth bimonthly policy statement today. The meeting would be headed by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. The MPC is likely to change its policy stance to 'neutral' from the current 'calibrated tightening' in this meeting, it might refrain from cutting interest rates due to fiscal challenges and rising crude oil prices. Watch out for the RBI Monetary Policy Committee's policy statement which would be released at 11:45 AM.
Results: Many top companies will announce their quarterly results today. Look out for the results of Tata Motors, Aurobindo Pharma, Britannia, Adani Enterprises, Coffee Day, Cadila Healthcare, Arvind and Grasim among others.
Rajasthan loan waiver: The Rajasthan government is all set to roll out is Rs 7,000-crore farm loan waiver scheme today. With this move, the newly formed government will look to fulfil its election promise. The state government will begin waiving loans taken from cooperative banks by small and medium farmers.
Brexit: UK PM Theresa May is due to meet European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the European Council President Donald Tusk in Brussels today. She will try to convince the EU to reconsider its position so-called 'Irish backstop' which her government agreed to, but is not in favour with either her party or the opposition.
