Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) in association with the Odisha Department of Forest organised a one-day-training programme on ‘Online submission and monitoring of forest clearance proposals’ at Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, the online submission of forest diversion proposals for non-forest activity is mandatory from August 15.
The training programme was to help the user agencies to file diversion proposals through the new system. The training was imparted to 160 delegates from various Central public sector undertakings such as MCL, SAIL, NTPC, OMDC, PGCIL NHAI as well as State PSUs, including OPGC, OMC and IDCO.
