Kolkata and parts of West Bengal experienced mild tremors on Sunday afternoon. Customers and employees ran out of shopping malls when the tremors began and waited outside.

Kolkata Metro Railway services have been temporarily suspended following the tremors.

Sources said the earthquake had its epicentre in Nepal and is said to have a magnitude of over 6 on the Richter scale.
