Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao will take oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

“It (taking oath) is likely to happen on Thursday. I along with one or two ministers will take the oath. After five days, the remaining (Ministers) will take the oath,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the legislature party of the TRS met for the first time since bagging 88 out of 119 seats in the recently concluded elections in the state. In the meeting, they elected Chandrasekhar Rao as their leader.

A copy of the resolution electing him will be sent to the Governor, E S L Narasimhan, today, staking claim to form the government.

The TRS trounced the Mahakutami by restricting Congress to just 19 seats and Telugu Desam Party to only two seats. Its other constituents - - TJS and CPI lost in all the seats they were alloted in the alliance. However, four ministers, including Thummala Nageswara Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao, and the Speaker of the Assembly Madhusudanachary lost their seats.
