TVS Motor Company has reported an impressive performance for the full year FY18.
The company’s profit after tax for 2017-18 grew by 19 per cent at ₹663 crore compared with ₹558 crore in 2016-17, aided by a strong increase in topline propelled by double-digit growth in scooter and bikes sales during the year.
Total revenue (excluding excise duty) increased by 25 per cent to ₹15,130 crore compared with ₹12,135 crore.
Profit before tax grew by 26 per cent at ₹879 crore against ₹699 crore in 2016-17.
For the quarter ended March 31, 2018, TVS Motor has reported 31 per cent increase in its net profit at ₹166 crore against ₹127 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Two-wheeler sales up
Total revenue (excluding excise duty) grew by 40 per cent to ₹3,993 crore compared with ₹2,844 crore.
Profit before tax also grew by 43 per cent at ₹192 crore against ₹134 crore in 2016-17.
In 2017-18, the overall two-wheeler sales, including exports, grew by 18 per cent from 28.58 lakh units to 33.67 lakh units. Motorcycle sales grew by 26 per cent at 13.55 lakh units (10.77 lakh units).
Scooter volumes grew by 30 per cent at 11.35 lakh units (8.70 lakh units).
Three-wheeler sales also increased by 42.5 per cent to 0.99 lakh units from 0.69 lakh units.
Exports stood at 5.75 lakh units (4.25 lakh units), posting an increase of 35 per cent.
