US Vice President Joe Biden is to meet Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday, with trade and security on the agenda.
The first US Vice-President to visit India in three decades, Biden began a four-day visit on Monday, accompanied by his wife Jill.
Biden was also to meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday before flying to the country’s financial hub Mumbai.
Talks were expected to cover regional security, including the conflict in Afghanistan, bilateral trade, climate change and defence cooperation, officials at India’s Ministry of External Affairs said.
In Mumbai, Biden was scheduled to meet business leaders and deliver a policy speech at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The Vice-President was scheduled to leave for Singapore on Thursday.
