The Mitticool refrigerator maker, who was featured recently in this column, has several other clay inventions up his sleeve. Mansukhbhai Prajapati has come up with a non-stick earthen griddle pan, an earthen cooker and a 10-litre clay water-filter for the rural poor. All of them seem useful innovations that are sure to be lapped up. But his future ambition involves building a Mitticool house. It will be of clay and naturally 10-15 degrees cooler than the outside temperature, eliminating the need for fans.
