Classical palace: The Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad, the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty, has won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Merit award for conservation of a cultural heritage building. Located on the south-west of Charminar and Mecca Masjid, the Palace is a Palladian Neo Classical structure with formal gardens that was constructed during the reign of Nizam Salabat Jung. — P. V.
