Travel expert Lonely Planet has launched a first-of-its-kind travel guide dedicated to Indian travellers exploring South India’s historic culture, titled Temple Trips: South India . In addition to the popular temples in Tirupati, Ramanathaswamy and Thanjavur, the travel guide also includes comprehensive features on lesser known temples, highlighting the importance of each deity, temple’s history and the wealth of its antiquity. Sesh Seshadri, Director, Lonely Planet India said that the company had undertaken research into what travellers want from a trip and found that 70 per cent of Indian travellers wanted to know more about a temple’s history and legends during their visits.
