The maiden edition of the India Travel Awards (West) was hosted in Pune and three hotels in the city - Novotel, DoubleTree by Hilton and Oakwood Premier - bagged awards.
In a statement, Parvez Dewan, Tourism Secretary, Government of India, said, “India Travel Awards is a great initiative to create an all-India platform to recognise those who have put in their efforts and hard work to help the travel and tourism industry to grow.”
While the award for ‘Best National Tourism Organization’ 2014 was given to Canadian Tourism Commission, Novotel Pune won the award for ‘Best Business Hotel’. Indigo and Qatar Airways were recognized as the Best Domestic and International Airlines through nominations.
After South India, the awards event has moved to West edition. Next will be East and North India and will finish with the final event.
