Tackling both hygiene and environmental pollution, Thebetterindia.com features a sanitary pad disposer that has been fabricated in the drought-prone Pabal region, 70km from Pune. Designed and tested at the MIT, Massachusetts-supported Fab Lab at the Vigyan Ashram in the village, the machine converts used napkins into ash in six to eight minutes. Now that tackles a problem that stares the country in the face but has never been addressed.
