Gujarat Tourism has bagged three National Tourism Awards for the best tourism film, innovative use of information and technology and one of the best States for the comprehensive development of tourism in the country.
The State Government’s star tourism campaign film, Khushboo Gujarat Ki (Fragrance of Gujarat), featuring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, won the National Tourism Award 2011-12 in the category of Award of Excellence-Best Tourism Film.
Gujarat Tourism Minister Saurabh Patel and Sanjay Kaul, Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) received the awards from the President Pranab Mukherjee at the National Tourism Awards 2011-12 function held in New Delhi on Monday, according to an official release here on Wednesday.
Gujarat was adjudged the third best State in the comprehensive development of tourism, while TCGL also received the award for the most innovative use of information technology.
Gujarat Tourism launched the Khushboo Gujarat Ki campaign with Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador to promote various tourist destinations and to uphold the culture and tradition of the State. The promotional campaign has contributed to the tourist influx into Gujarat, which has seen an increase of 54 lakh visitors in the last two years.
