The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad has bagged the National Tourism Award 2011-12 under the Best Airport category.
The airport has been adjudged as the best airport in India for promoting tourism, not only in Andhra Pradesh but also at the pan-India level.
President Pranab Kumar Mukherjee presented the award to G.M. Rao, Group Chairman and Vikram Jaisinghani, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, at a ceremony in New Delhi. K. Chiranjeevi, Union Tourism Minister, was also present on the occasion.
