The Udupi-based gaming studio – 99Games Online Pvt Ltd – launched ‘Sultan: The Game’ on Google Play on Friday.
The game is based on Salman Khan’s forthcoming Bollywood movie Sultan , which is being produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF).
Quoting Rohith Bhat, Chief Executive Officer of 99Games, a press release said that the release of ‘Sultan: The Game’ has further cemented its relationship with YRF.
The user can experience action of a pro-wrestler by donning the role of Sultan in the game. It has 60 levels of in-ring action-filled combats, it said.
Manan Mehta, Vice-President (Marketing and Merchandise) at YRF, said that YRF treats games as a massive opportunity to engage with cinemagoers as well as widen its audience base. ‘Sultan: The Game’ is one of the best developed film-themed games to have come out and will allow the audience to step into the shoes of the character, he said.
99Games got an opportunity to develop its very first Indian Bollywood title ‘Dhoom 3: The Game’ for YRF in 2013. This action-centric racing game had witnessed over 20 million downloads, the release said.
In February, 99Games and YRF agreed to work together on games for a series of movies produced by YRF.
The first two games in these series were for Fan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sultan starring Salman Khan.
Released in March, ‘FAN: The Game’ has been garnering a lot of positive reviews, it said.
