The city is getting ready for the third Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) partnership summit in succession from February 24 to 26 and all arrangements are being made to make the event a grand success, like the previous two, according to State HRD Minister G Srinivasa Rao.
After reviewing the arrangements with the officials here on Monday, he told the media that Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Suresh Prabhu, P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Sujana Choudary, besides Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani will attend the inaugural function.
Srinivasa Rao said that nearly 2,000 delegates from 18 countries such as Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bngladesh and the UAE would take part in the summit expected to attract about 150 per cent more investments than in the past.
He said that in the past two summits as many as 876 MoUs for investments to the extent of ₹10.97 lakh crore and employment to 14.96 lakh were signed. Some of them were under implementation while efforts were on to get the remaining projects off the ground.
He said the inauguration of the Kia Motors plant under construction in Anantapur district would also be performed on the final day of the summit.
Last week, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu toured Dubai to attract investors from the UAE to the summit and the response was overwhelming, he added.
