Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed hope that the Opposition parties would allow Parliament to function during the Budget session that commenced today.

In his brief remarks outside Parliament, ahead of the President's address, Modi also said the Government will discuss all important Bills in the session.

Modi had on Sunday emphasised that smooth functioning of Parliament was important as the Budget session was very crucial and the public looked at it with a lot of hope and expectations.

As many as six ordinances are expected to be converted into Acts of Parliament by April 5.
