Woman from Hyderabad dies in Mecca stampede

Bi Bi Jaan, a lady Haj pilgrim from Hyderabad has reportedly died in the stampede in Mina near Mecca in Saudi Arabia today.

  She had gone on pilgrimage with her husband Abdul Majeed and two other relatives on September 2 and completed yesterday. She was injured in the stampede while proceeding to take part in stoning Big Satan.

 Though admitted in a Mina Hospital, she succumbed to the injuries, a press release said.

  The Special Officer Telangana State  Haj   Committee  S A Shukoor, who is in constant touch with the Consul Haj, Indian Haj Mission in Jeddah besides Khadim ul Hujjaj of both the states, said that apart from this there is no  information about any injury or casualty.

   The Khadim ul Hujjaj have been alerted to check all the tents in Mina, where the pilgrims from two states are put up. He also spoke to the relatives of the deceased pilgrims both in Saudi Arabia and in Hyderabad and consoled them. 

The State Haj Committee has set an exclusive Help Line with No. 040–2321 4193 for Telangana State and 040–2329 8793  for the Andhra Pradesh State, which will work round the clock.
