At least 10 people were killed today when a suspected suicide bomber targeted an office of a pro-government milita in the restive Darra Adam Khel region of northwest Pakistan, police officials said.
A powerful explosion ripped through the office of the “aman committee” or militia in the central market of Darra Adam Khel.
Police officials said they believed that the office had been hit by a suicide bomber.
At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in the attack, police officials were quoted as saying by TV news channels.
The wound were rushed to a nearby hospital. No other details were immediately available. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
The banned Pakistani Taliban had a strong presence in the Darra Adam Khel region till the army launched an operation to flush them out of the area in 2009.
