7.0 magnitude earthquake rocks Alaska

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Alaska’s Aleutian Islands on Friday, the US Geological Survey reported, but there were no reports of injuries or property damage.

The epicentre was 94 kilometres from the village of Adak or about 1,900 km west of Anchorage in the island chain which is a hot-spot of earthquake activity.

The quake struck at 1625 GMT.
