Insurgents from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant have kidnapped 26 people, mainly security personnel, in northern Iraq, security officials said.
The abductions were carried out during two overnight raids by ISIL in the province of Salah al-Din, 170 kilometres north of Baghdad, an official said on condition of anonymity.
