A moderate 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted China’s northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region today, seismologists said.
The quake hit the Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture of Bayingolin at 10:08 pm (local time), the China Earthquake Networks Centre (CENC) reported.
The US Geological Survey put the earthquake at 5.3-magnitude, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
There were no reports of casualties and damage.
