Upgrades from both Microsoft and Sony this month promise useful new functions for their respective gaming stations.
XBox One users will soon be able to upgrade the console’s 500 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory with up to two external hard drives, so long as these have at least 256 GB and support the USB 3.0 standard.
The new update to allow this function is expected this month.
Meanwhile, Sony has begun paving the way for the Playstation 4’s new Preload function. It will allow gamers who buy titles to download them before they’re available so that they can be played the minute they officially go on sale.
The first game to support this function will be Activision’s shooter role-playing game Destiny, set to hit the market September 9.
