Asia-Pacific leaders on Tuesday agreed to speed up trade and investment liberalisation and strive to achieve sustainable growth.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said at the end of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Bali that the leaders agreed to “redouble their efforts” to achieve free and open trade and investment by 2020, known as the Bogor Goals.
Yudhoyono also said the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to achieve strong, balanced, sustainable and inclusive global growth and accelerate connectivity by having better communications and transport.
“We shared the view that connectivity could help reduce the production and transportation costs, strengthen regional supply-chains, and improve the business climate in the region.
“And at the same time, infrastructure and connectivity-building will create more jobs and ensure job security,” he said.
