Former Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi was found guilty of soliciting sex from a minor and abusing his powers to cover up his actions by a Milan court, which sentenced him to seven years in prison and a lifetime ban on holding public office.
The prosecution had asked for a six-year jail term, as well as the lifetime ban.
The sentence will not come into force since the 76-year-old politician can appeal.
